Never skip the inspection for any reason when buying a home.
In a competitive seller's market buyers are tempted to skip the inspection or waive all repair requests to sweeten the offer. Big mistake. In a competitive seller's market you are more likely to need to offer a price ABOVE the list price.
Buyers compound the issue of overspending by skipping the inspection only to find costly repairs after move-in.
Do not think there are exceptions - not even for a new construction home. Even new construction have defects or missing items required for housing code compliance.
