After more than two decades representing businesses in commercial litigation, driven by the moral imperative to prevent ill will among people, Dan changed his practice to dispute prevention. Dan helps his clients avoid disputes by thoughtful management of their business relationships. Such relationships include those among owners of closely held businesses, and the relationships businesses have wi
th their suppliers, service providers, customers, and employees. Dan has a special passion for issues arising at the ever-changing intersection of law and computers (including those arising when law meets the Internet or social networks) which now affect every business. In light of the increasing digitization of the arts, a growing part of his practice is art and entertainment law. Dan is also considered a consulting philosopher. His practice is not just a matter of cranking out standard documents, but it aims to thoroughly understand his clients' big goals so as to assist them in meaningful ways. Dan A. Krohn is a general business attorney with an emphasis on technology and Internet matters. In private practice for over 20 years, Dan offers clients a problem-solving approach that blends balanced thinking, customized strategies and hands-on legal skills. Resourceful, creative and non-judgmental, Dan is a seasoned practitioner who genuinely cares about people and their issues. The majority of his clients are closely held businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals with a wide variety of interests and obligations. A native of Los Angeles, Dan graduated from high school in Columbus, Georgia, and in 1971, earned a B.A. in Economics from Emory University. While at Emory, Dan served as a disc jockey and then general manager at WEMO, the campus radio station. Deciding to pursue a legal career, Dan entered the University of Texas School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1974. Following graduation, Dan served as law clerk to the Travis County District Courts. He then became the first administrative law judge for the Texas Department of Banking, where he presided over hearings on state bank applications, domicile changes and other related matters.
