Mr. Aqrawi made history as the first Kurdish-American attorney licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and among the earliest Kurdish immigrants from Iraq to establish a successful legal career in the United States. During the First Gulf War, he became the first attorney to successfully facilitate the legal immigration of an Iraqi national to the United States—achieving this during a time of extraordinary legal and political complexity.
