She is committed to achieving the best for her clients. Prior to real estate, Susan enjoyed a background in several fields, all of which enriched her life
and made her the well-rounded individual she ultimately became. She traveled the world as a Delta Airlines flight attendant and also owned her own manufacturing business. Of particular benefit to her many real estate clients, however, is the fact that Susan was a registered ASID interior designer for more than 20 years and her design skills helped her garner a coveted assignment as a contributing editor to Southern Accents magazine for 10 years. Susan’s design flair gives her an edge in determining what today’s buyers and sellers want and need in a home.
“Homes are extensions of people,” says Susan. “By asking the right questions and really listening, I gain an understanding of a client’s desires and dreams.” Her contagious enthusiasm and savvy design skills translate into a winning relationship for her clients. In fact, demand for her market expertise and distinct style has brought her repeat customers.
“My greatest joy comes from interacting with people. I absolutely treasure the friendships I’ve made in this business over the years,” says Susan, who relishes entertaining in her home. “I really know how to listen to what clients are saying and am able to translate that into a perfect match for a home.”
Susan specializes in Houston’s most desirable residential areas including River Oaks, West University, Southampton, Southside Place and The Heights. Susan’s devotion also extends to community activities and volunteerism. As a sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston, one of her favorite assignments was working with adolescents who were involved in Juvenile Probation. For more than eleven years, Susan has been a member of the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, and their Program Chair for seven years. In addition, she is a member of the Boulevard Oaks Ladies Association and their Social Chairman. She has served as a docent of Bayou Bend, the American Decorative Arts Museum of Houston, and has been active in fundraising for many organizations, including the Houston Symphony and the American Heart Association. Most recently, she volunteered for the Prison Entrepreneurship Program at the Cleveland Unit prison for men helping inmates develop business plans to harness their inherent ingenuity and ability to innovate. When she’s not working or involved in volunteer activities, Susan enjoys traveling, reading history, and exercising daily at DEFINE.
