Happy Independence Day, Ghana 🇬🇭
As more people maintain ties to multiple countries, dual citizenship is becoming more common for families who live, work, and travel internationally.
If you hold dual citizenship, here are a few important things to remember when traveling:
1️⃣ Use the passport of the country you are entering.
Many countries expect their citizens to enter using that country’s passport.
2️⃣ U.S. citizens must return to the United States using a U.S. passport.
Even if you hold another nationality, U.S. law requires U.S. citizens to enter and leave the United States using their U.S. passport.
3️⃣ Keep both passports valid before traveling.
Check expiration dates well in advance and renew early if needed.
4️⃣ Keep copies of important documents accessible while abroad.
This includes passports, immigration documents, and identification records.
For individuals and families who live across borders, citizenship and travel documentation are an important part of long-term planning.
Wishing everyone celebrating today a Happy Independence Day.
