A deadly overnight crash in Pearland left one person dead and three others hospitalized after a vehicle rolled over and burst into flames on State Highway 288 early Thursday morning.
According to Pearland police, the crash happened around 1 a.m. on the southbound lanes of SH-288 near Hughes Ranch Road. Authorities say a single vehicle lost control before overturning and catching fire with four people trapped inside. Emergency responders rushed to the scene and worked to pull victims from the burning wreckage as flames engulfed the vehicle.
One victim was pronounced dead at the scene while the remaining passengers were transported to nearby hospitals with serious injuries. Due to the severity of the crash and damage to nearby infrastructure, officials shut down portions of southbound Highway 288 for several hours overnight while crews investigated and cleared debris from the roadway.
Rollover crashes remain some of the most dangerous accidents on Texas roadways because they often involve high speeds, violent impact forces, roof collapse, vehicle fires, and passenger ejections. Survivors can face extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, lost income, emotional trauma, and long-term recovery challenges after catastrophic collisions like this one.
Unfortunately, insurance companies often begin building their defense immediately after serious accidents happen. Adjusters may attempt to minimize injuries, pressure victims into early settlements, or secure statements before victims fully understand the extent of their damages.
The attorneys at RingMingLaw help accident victims throughout Houston and surrounding areas fight for compensation related to medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, future treatment costs, and wrongful death claims.
If you or someone you love has been injured in a serious accident, don’t face the insurance companies alone.
