It was a productive few days connecting with regional centers, developers, and immigration professionals who share a commitment to the future of the EB-5 program.

To everyone we had the pleasure of connecting with — thank you. We're looking forward to what's ahead.

How does EB-5 truly differ from “gold” or “platinum” visa programs — and what role does it play in supporting local economies?

immigration attorney Indy Sidhu, with over 20 years of experience advising investors and businesses, shares her perspective on how EB-5 capital is directly tied to job creation and economic development.

She also explains why EB-5 is structured as an at-risk investment under U.S. securities and immigration frameworks, distinguishing it from donation-based or passive residency programs seen in other jurisdictions.

Houston EB5’s Managing Director, Roberto Contreras IV, was recently featured on the Houston Legends show on KHOU alongside Dr. Laura Murillo of the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

During the conversation, Roberto spoke about the EB-5 program as a “win-win-win” — creating opportunity for investors, supporting job creation, and helping bring meaningful development to communities across the United States.

That perspective continues to shape our work at Houston EB5 as we connect global investors with projects that generate economic impact and long-term value.

It was an honor to be part of the discussion and share how EB-5 creates value for investors, communities, and the broader economy.

Two dates EB-5 investors should know:

September 30, 2026
This is the grandfathering deadline under the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act. Investors who file Form I-526E before this date are protected even if the EB-5 program is not reauthorized afterward.

September 30, 2027
This is the current authorization date for the EB-5 Regional Center Program. Congress will need to extend the program before this date for new filings to continue.

Understanding these timelines can help investors plan their EB-5 strategy with greater clarity: https://bit.ly/4s2r8iN
