Great presentation from Niko Daboin!

This topic has been on my mind and I’m the first to admit when I’m not familiar with a subject - so, for those that know me, it’s no surprised I did something about it.

I met Niko a couple of years ago and he has been so helpful in teaching me more of the subject and orienting me to the right steps. Naturally, I wanted to share this information with others, who like me, might not have that guidance to plan ahead. So, I thought “oh, wait, I can just do an event.”

I’m so grateful for everyone that showed up,regardless of the weather, and that shares the same interest in learning! Mostly, for going along with my nerdy ideas.

Big thank you to the man of the hour, Niko, for putting together a great presentation and handling the hot seat in a room of intelligent women!

¡Viva México! 🇲🇽 Given the recent immigration rulings, how ideal is it to celebrate my roots? I cannot stay silent and just watch how our government is hurting it’s people. I asked a few attorneys who shared the same sentiment if they’d like to get together for a picture… and wow viva la Raza!

The beauty of the Mexican culture is that it doesn’t matter if you where born here, Mexico, Latino America, Europe, or anywhere we love to share our culture and stand side by side our neighbors and our friends.

Thank you all that showed up to this spontaneous gathering! Special shout out to who brought her team and has always been such an amazing person, friend, attorney.

As Hispanic Heritage Month commences, the legal community is speaking up. ⚖️ The Supreme Court’s recent ruling is a dangerous violation of our 4th Amendment rights—allowing unlawful detentions through racial profiling. 🚨

CONOCE TUS DERECHOS

Tu derecho a protestar pacíficamente está protegido por la Primera Enmienda de la Constitución de los Estados Unidos.
Tienes derecho a reunirte, hablar libremente y presentar peticiones al gobierno en espacios públicos como calles, aceras y parques, siempre y cuando sigas las leyes y regulaciones locales.
Recuerda:
No tienes que responder preguntas de la policía.
No tienes que consentir registros.
Tienes el derecho de grabar las acciones de la policía en público.
Tienes el derecho de guardar silencio.
Si eres detenido o arrestado:

Mantén la calma y guarda silencio.

Solicita educadamente un abogado.

No hables con la policía sin la presencia de tu abogado.

“Why so serious?” lol

Felonies are no joke. In an Agg Assault with Deadly Weapon - you can face 2-20 years. Today, we were set for trial and got our client a felony dismissal - my client exercised his right to self-defense.

After all … it is Texas 🇨🇱. My client had to wait months because of an ice hold and was facing 2 - 20 years. We combed through the evidence. The facts and the statements lined up to show a self defense case. Justice was brought when this case was finally dismissed.

Let me just say, that the media reported a drive by shooting - when it was nothing of the sorts. Facts y’all. Research and facts … because when it came down to it… this case could not be proven beyond reasonable doubt.

“Por que tan seria?” Una felonia no es un juego. En un asalto agravado con una arma, tiene consecuencias de 2 a 20 años de cárcel. Hoy, estábamos para juicio y logramos a desestimar su caso de felonia - cuando mi cliente ejerció su derecho a defensa propia.

Después de todo… estamos en Texas 🇨🇱. Mi cliente tuvo que esperar meses con hold de inmigración y viendo entre 2 a 20 años. Pero sacudimos la evidencia. Los hechos y testamentos apuntaban a un caso de defensa propia. Justicia se hizo cuando al fin se desestimó su caso.

Deja nada mas digo que las noticias reportaron un « drive by shooting » cuando ni al caso. Los hechos son importantes. Hacer una búsqueda y saber los hechos por que cuando se llegó al fondo este caso no se pudo comprobar más aya de la duda razonable.
