Planning for the future starts with protecting the people you love. 🖋️ At Your Favorite Notary, we provide professional, reliable notarization services for wills, powers of attorney, medical directives, business documents, and more throughout Texas.

📌 4 Tips for Notarizing a Self-Proving Will in Texas:

1️⃣ The testator and two witnesses who are not beneficiaries of the will must appear together before the notary.
2️⃣ Everyone must present a valid government-issued photo ID.
3️⃣ The will should already include the self-proving affidavit language required by Texas law.
4️⃣ Do NOT sign the affidavit beforehand — signatures must be witnessed during notarization.

Let us help make your important documents official with accuracy and professionalism.

Today I notarized a vehicle transfer affidavit for a client.

Notice the extremely small area designated for the notary signature and seal.

Normally the notary would attach a loose certificate to avoid overlapping the signature and seal, but in this case, the courthouse would not have accepted a loose certificate.

It is important for the notary to be familiar with various forms and documents and the expectations of various offices.

In this case it is appropriate and acceptable to sign and stamp directly on this transfer affidavit as long as both seal and signature are legible. Although, there will be overlapping.
