This happening in Harris County makes me physically ill. We fail domestic abuse victims in our society over and over. A woman is hit once and she leaves and the court ask her, had he ever hit you before? Like the first time wasn’t enough?!?!? A woman is threatened with a knife to her throat and it’s witnessed by another person, the abuser records the witness in his home while he watches off camera threateningly and his daughter demands she recant her story, the DA dismisses the charges because of the video which is the most mob era crap I’ve ever heard. Repeatedly our counties in Texas fail victims. If you are a victim of domestic violence and need assistance in Houston and surrounding areas please call me and I will provide low cost or pro-bono assistance to get you a protective order from your abuser. 281-898-3883
On August 29, 2025, a Hood News Peep was assaulted in a domestic violence incident that left her with serious injuries.
Since the assault, she has experienced ongoing neurological issues, including changes to her sense of smell and taste, along with PTSD symptoms that have required her to take short-term disability. She has not returned to work.
She had severe injuries to her face, including both eyes badly bruised and swollen, a ruptured eardrum, and deep cuts behind her ear that needed about 20 stitches after she fell when she was hit.
A suspect was charged in the case. A different DA took over the case shortly before his court date on March 18 and later accepted a plea agreement of 13 months probation, with eligibility for expungement after two years.
The victim states she was not notified that a deal had been offered prior to it being accepted.
According to her account, the victim says she had been told the case would go to a grand jury for possible felony charges due to the severity of her injuries but that didn’t happen.
She is now speaking out about her experience.
