At the State Bar conference, Firm partner Keith Remels moderated a panel discussion regarding the new Texas Business Courts.

How are things going at the new Texas Business Court? Justice April Farris of the 15th Court of Appeals and Judge Sofia Adrogué, one of the Texas Business Court's inaugural judges, shared their views last week at the State Bar of Texas’ annual meeting in Houston alongside moderator Keith Remels of Dow Goldberg Remels & Gilbreath.

The Texas Business Court is resolving cases from a defendant's appearance to conclusion in about 12 months on average, a pace Adrogué called "shockingly fast" by Texas trial court standards, though she cautioned the figure may not be sustainable given the volume of cases now heading to trial.
