Partners Sanford L. Dow and Debra Gilbreath acted as real estate counsel, and were ably assisted by the Firm's paralegal, Gina Anderson.

The $28.25 million dollar transaction was part of a Chapter 11 plan sale and confirmation in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Anthony Greene of Togut, Segal & Segal LLP (NYC) was lead bankruptcy counsel, and Stuart Miller of Munsch Hardt (Houston) served as health care counsel.

The Firm is pleased to support its client, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, by filing an amicus brief in the Texas Supreme Court case of Hancock v. RJR V***r Co., LLC. Submitted for the Campaign and numerous other health-focused organizations, in the brief, we argue that addictive ni****ne pouches, sold and marketed to youth with such appealing flavors as spearmint, black cherry, dragon fruit, and “citrus burst”, are “made of tobacco” and subject to taxation as such by the State of Texas. The case is set for oral argument in the supreme court on October 8.
