DYK: May 1 has been designated as Law Day since 1958?
Over the last two weeks, Jasmin had the opportunity to speak with Ohio business leaders about something that affects every business: the Rule of Law.
First, she joined fellow OSBA and ABA member Michael Flowers for a CLE webinar with Ohio Chamber of Commerce members in recognition of Law Day. Then, last week, she presented to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce Small Business Council on why the Rule of Law matters to the business community.
For business owners, the Rule of Law is more than a civics concept; it is the foundation that allows contracts to be enforced, property rights to be protected, disputes to be resolved fairly, and businesses of all sizes to operate with confidence.
Strong businesses are able to thrive in reliable systems with clear rules, and with institutions that make fair dealing possible.
Thank you to the Ohio Chamber of Commerce for creating space for this important conversation!
Honored to have our own Jasmin Hurley, JH Legal LLC representing Fayette County businesses at the Ohio Chamber Small Business Council.
Jasmin’s presentation, “The Rule of Law: And Why Businesses Should Care,” highlighted how essential law is to every stage of business success. She also spoke about how a strong legal foundation helps make the American Dream possible—by protecting innovation, investment, and the rights of business owners.
Thank you, Jasmin, for championing our business community and reminding us that understanding the law isn’t just smart—it’s fundamental to growth and opportunity.
