Garland County Jury Acquits Client in Domestic Abuse Case
On August 12, 2025, after a two-day jury trial in Garland County Circuit Court, a local man was acquitted of charges alleging domestic abuse against an autistic child. The unanimous verdict came after jurors heard evidence and testimony that challenged the prosecution’s allegations and supported the defendant’s innocence.
Attorneys Story Phillips and Josh Hurst of Hurst Law Group represented the client throughout the proceedings. The defense team emphasized the importance of a thorough examination of the facts, cross-examining witnesses, and presenting evidence that shed light on the circumstances of the case.
“We are grateful that the jury carefully considered all the evidence and reached the correct conclusion,” said Josh Hurst. “This verdict reaffirms the principle that every person is entitled to the presumption of innocence and a fair trial.”
Story Phillips added, “Our client’s life and reputation were at stake. We’re pleased that the truth prevailed.”
The acquittal concludes a case that had significant emotional and legal stakes for all involved. The defense expressed appreciation to the jury for their service and to the Court for ensuring a fair process.
