20 years ago today, on April 19, 2006, I was admitted to the New York State Appellate Division for the Second Judicial Department and became a lawyer.

I’m grateful to the people who have been part of that process along the way. And yes, that includes difficult adversaries, demanding judges, some amazing court personnel and tough clients. They sharpen you in ways nothing else does and make you better.

Since then, it’s been a long road—plenty of work, a lot of lessons, and a steady evolution in how I practice and think about the law… and how laws, duties, rights, and responsibilities manage to show up everywhere—even in something as simple as making pancakes.

Now also admitted in Massachusetts (since 2019) and Connecticut (since last Friday), I’m looking forward to what’s next.
