Town of Holden

Town of Holden One of the first things that brought settlers to the 36-square miles incorporated as the Town of Holden in 1741 was the many ponds and brooks.

These were harnessed to provide power for mills. The homes and businesses built near these mills became villages - the names of which are still used today to identify sections of town. Today the ponds and brooks still attract people to Holden. We are now home to over 18,000 people, who benefit from all the local businesses, great town services, a first-rate school system and all the open space. We

have the ocean to the east, the mountains to the north and west and the rolling hills of Worcester County. Come and check us out!
