Fall brings all the cozy vibes, pumpkin spice, cinnamon, apple cider, but when it comes to selling your home, scent matters more than you think.
Or if you are like me, too strong of scents gives me the worst headaches and irritates allergies.😥
Avoid anything that’s too strong, too personal, or hard to remove:
❌Heavy pumpkin spice or clove candles
❌Overpowering plug-ins or room sprays
❌Strong cooking smells
❌Wet dog or litter box odors
❌Cigarette smoke
❌Overly floral perfumes or cleaning chemicals
Buyers don’t want to feel like you’re masking something.
Stick with clean, subtle scents that feel fresh and inviting:
🍋 Light citrus (lemon, bergamot)
🌿 Soft herbal notes (eucalyptus, lavender)
🌾 Fresh linen or cotton
🍞 A hint of vanilla or baked goods (not overpowering)
🌲 Soft pine or cedarwood (great for fall & winter)
