Today marks the 250th anniversary of the day the Second Continental Congress urged a young nation to pause for a national day of fasting, humility, and prayer. Facing the chaos of war and an uncertain future, our Founders set aside pride and politics to come together before God—confessing their shortcomings, seeking His mercy, and asking for wisdom to secure liberty. Today, let’s embrace that same spirit: drop our divisions, humble our hearts in genuine repentance, and stand united in the quiet confidence that the God who guided those patriots is still with us. May this milestone stir a fresh resolve—one nation under God—trusting His hand to carry us forward, stronger and more united than ever.

An informed citizen is one of the most powerful forces in a free society. Our votes shape the future of our communities, our children, and the values we leave behind. Don’t let headlines, rumors, or campaign dollars make your decisions for you — take the time to research, ask questions, and truly understand who is asking for your trust. Then stand behind the leaders you respect, the ones whose character, actions, and vision genuinely connect with your heart and your hopes for the future. Your voice matters, your vote matters, and when informed citizens show up, real change becomes possible.

Let’s continue to pray for our first responders working tirelessly day and night to battle the fire. We also lift up the families who have lost their homes and those who have been displaced, asking for strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

The fire continues into another night in Brantley County.
