Sunday night from Idaho. Big Sky tournament tomorrow. But first, let me address the thing that’s been melting down every agent group chat for a solid week now.
Real Broker acquired REMAX.
It’s been seven days. Seven days of agents on the internet acting like the real estate sky is falling. Hot takes. Screenshots. “What does this mean?” posts. I’ve seen the same graphic reposted more times than I’ve seen a home priced right in this market.
You know how many clients have called me about it in seven days? Zero.
You know how many asked about it at showings? Zero.
You know what they DID ask? “Can you still help me find a house?”
Yes. Yes I can. That’s literally the whole point.
Agents: THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!
Clients: So… are we still on for the showing Tuesday?
That’s the gap. Agents obsessing over brokerage logos while their clients just want someone to answer the phone and help them buy a home.
Brokerages merge. It happened before. It’ll happen again. Logos change. Comp plans get restructured. Leadership shifts. That’s the business. Always has been.
You know what doesn’t merge, restructure, or disappear? Your name. Your content. Your reputation. The trust you built with people who chose YOU. Not a logo. Not a yard sign color. You.
I’m at Real Broker. I’m fired up about what this acquisition opens up. The resources, the reach, the opportunity. It’s massive and we’re just getting started.
But here’s the truth. Even if none of that existed, my phone still rings tomorrow. Because my clients don’t call a brokerage. They call Shawn. Ten weeks of showing up every day made sure of that.
Does yours call you? Or do they call the brand you’ve been building someone else’s name under?
Something to think about while you repost that acquisition graphic one more time.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m in Idaho watching my daughter play softball. Because my business runs whether I’m doom-scrolling brokerage news or not.
DM me BUILD if you want to talk about building something that’s actually yours.
