Did you buy a new house in 2023? Get divorced? Turn 65? Become 100% disabled by SSA? Make sure you file for homestead exemption in the Tax Assessor's office before April 1st!

HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION:
*Did you buy a home in 2023?
*Did you or your spouse turn 65 in 2023?
*Are you newly married or divorced and own a home?
*Did the name on your deed change?
*Are you certified 100% disabled?
These are just a few reasons you will need to apply or reapply for a Homestead Exemption. A Homestead Exemption reduces the property taxes people have to pay on their primary home.
5PM on Monday April 1, 2024 is the deadline to file your Homestead Exemption Application. (NOTE: County offices - including the Tax Assessor will be closed Friday 3/29)
