50 feels pretty great.

My family came into town to celebrate, and I know how busy everyone is, so it meant more than I can say that they made the time. My mom made her lasagna (she told me to stop telling people it’s the best ever… but I’m 50 now, so I can say whatever I want). It’s the best ever.

A wonderful friend opened her home so I could have a low-key, relaxed evening filled with easy conversation and a lot of laughter. Some of these friends I’ve known for decades, others just a couple of years, but every single one has added something meaningful to my life. I felt incredibly lucky to celebrate with such a great group of people.

My sister made a double chocolate cake and decorated it with heart shaped gummies, which was a hit. My niece and nephew were so excited to go home with some balloons, and Evan happily hung out with the adults (it blows my mind that in six months he will officially be one!).

I was thoroughly spoiled with some great gifts that I’m already enjoying. Plus, enough wine to properly welcome a new decade. My ride-or-die BFF even had flowers delivered, which brightened my day even more.

Grateful for family. Grateful for friends. Grateful for another year.

Today is my son’s 17th birthday.

While I’m hosting my Tea & Trusts event tonight, he’ll be celebrating with his dad before heading to Mexico for the week, then straight to Mammoth to train with his cross-country team.

We celebrated early on Sunday with a Dodger game, followed by watching Zoolander and laughing way too hard while making our own version of Blue Steel.

Watching him grow into this strong, thoughtful, independent young man has been the greatest privilege of my life.

I don’t love talking about death. It’s hard, especially when someone’s sick or overwhelmed. But I do this work because I care. Because knowing the people you love are protected brings peace.

Evan was the first person I protected with an estate plan.
And that decision still gives me peace today.

Happy Birthday, Evan. You’ve made me stronger, more grounded, and more committed to helping others protect what matters most.

“Do I really need a trust if I’m not ultra-wealthy?”

Short answer: not always.

But if you’re leaving anything that matters—property, retirement funds, a business—then what you really need is a plan that protects it after you’re gone.

Most of my clients were never shown that option.

I’m walking through all of this (in plain English) at my upcoming Tea & Trusts event. You’ll leave with clarity—not fear.

What do estate planning and wellness have in common?

More than you think.

We’re gathering at Love.Life in El Segundo on July 23rd for an evening of warm tea, light bites, and real conversations about what it actually takes to protect the people you love.

🫖 Tea & Trusts isn’t just for people with money.
It’s for people who want to make what they give matter.

Bring your spouse. Your parents. Your adult kids.
Let’s make this a family conversation.

Your adult children might be brilliant.

But unless they’re estate lawyers, they probably don’t know what to look for in your trust.

Most families don’t realize the plan they have isn’t enough—until it’s too late.

Let’s fix that.

🫖 Join me on July 23rd at Tea & Trusts in El Segundo.
We’ll sip tea and talk strategy—without the legal jargon.

A few weeks ago, I visited my niece in Memphis—and of course, we had to go to Graceland.

The mirrored ceilings, velvet walls, s**g carpet… Elvis went all in.

But what really stayed with me wasn’t the extravagance. It was the intention.
Every room, every detail, told a story. Preserved a piece of him.

I was there with my brother, watching my niece take it all in—and it reminded me that legacy isn’t just about what we leave behind.
It’s about what we choose to protect while we’re here.

For some families, that’s a house. For others, it’s a set of values, a business, or a story that deserves to last.

That’s what I help my clients plan for—beyond just the documents.

🫖 I’ll be talking more about it at Tea & Trusts on July 23rd in El Segundo.
Bring your people. It’s a family conversation.

You don’t need millions to leave a legacy that protects.

A colleague of mine once told me her grandmother left her about $10,000—in a Lifetime Asset Protection Trust.

She used it to start a business. Decades later, that business is now worth $15 million—and when she filed for bankruptcy, it was still protected.

Because of the way her grandmother planned, not a single creditor could touch it.

That’s the kind of strategy most people are never shown.
It’s not about how much you leave—it’s about how you leave it.

🫖 I’ll be walking through examples like this at Tea & Trusts on July 23rd.
This isn’t just for the ultra-wealthy. It’s for anyone who wants to make sure what they give actually protects the people they love.

Her adult son was an engineer. Smart, practical, thoughtful.

He read her estate plan and told her everything looked fine.
But what he didn’t know was what had been left out.

No one had ever shown her the options that could protect her kids after she’s gone. Not even her last lawyer.

This happens more than you think.

Most families assume the only option is to leave everything outright. But when home values are high and inheritances are growing… that approach might do more harm than good.

Let’s change that.
