In addition to his civil practice, Bob has served as a city attorney for the cities of Festus and Crystal City, Missouri, provided pro-bono services through Legal Services of Missouri, performed professional and volunteer services for the Festus R-6 School District, and he has also authored and edited research publications for the Missouri State Bar. In 2004, after leaving the Jefferson County Fir
m of Dodson, Breeze, Kister and Roberts, where he had been a founding partner and worked for 24 years, Bob established his current office, Bob Kister Trial Lawyer, LLC in Herculaneum, Missouri. It is here that he has handled and won some of his most exciting cases, many helping individuals secure compensation for disability so they could recover or adapt after life-changing events, as well as numerous civil rights cases. From the Twin City Chamber of Commerce and the Twin City Area Kiwanis Club, where he maintains membership and has served as President, to Dining Out for Life and Night of Superstars, Bob spends much of his free time sponsoring, participating in, and volunteering for civic and community organizations. Putting his college track and football background to work (he lettered in NCAA Division III for both sports during his undergrad years at Grinnell), Bob has coached youth sports for the YMCA and the JFL. He also took part in the planning, acquisition, and ongoing development of West City Park in Festus. Bob is the proud father of two sons, Mike and Mat Kister, and in 2013 he welcomed the arrival of his first grandchild. He lives in rural Festus where he can often be found riding motorcycles on- and off-road.
