One of the questions I get the most from people in Henderson is:
“What’s really happening with the housing market right now?”

Henderson Goodfellows Organizer Richard Pendergraft and Realtor Christie Moore - ERA First Henderson were our guests on Friday's edition of Speak Up.

ERA First Advantage Reality will be the site for the Toys for Goodfellows open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17th. People may enjoy hot cocoa and cookies and can donate toys or gifts to the Goodfellows.

Volunteers are needed for sacking day from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 20th at South Middle School. That precedes the annual Goodfellows Christmas party, which will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21st at South Middle School. Doors will open at noon.

Pendergraff said Goodfellows was about halfway to its fundraising goal of $35,000 as of Friday.

Goodfellows donations may be mailed to the Henderson Municipal Building at P.O. Box 716, Henderson, KY 42420.

Checks addressed to Henderson Goodfellows may also be dropped off at the Municipal Center during business hours. The Municipal Center is located at 222 First Street in Downtown Henderson.

Checks may also be mailed to Goodfellows at P.O. Box 1711, Henderson, KY 42419.

The City of Henderson will be tabulating how many donations come in and WSON will read the donations aloud on air and publish that information on WSON's website and social media.

Let's do something today that's counter to everything you've been told the last couple of years... appreciate a Realtor.

They work countless hours and sacrifice family time constantly.

They negotiate stressful contracts out front and behind the scenes on the largest asset you'll ever own, with no guarantee of compensation. If a deal falls apart, they get nothing.

They are operating in a market right now where most buyers want a steal and most sellers still want to set records and they've got to figure out how to make everyone feel like they've won.

The top 1% make all the money and the rest are left struggling and wondering if they are going to make it. That's a tough way to live month to month. Respect.
