Legal Assistant Kayleigh Cleveland and Attorney Austin Vowels had a great time yesterday at the Henderson Chambers’ Day at the Capitol and West Kentucky Thank You Night Reception! Proud of our region and hopeful that our state government will keep it moving in the right direction. Proud of our local advocates.

The Henderson Chamber is pushing for completion of the I-69 Bridge, keeping the Twin Bridges both open, better early childhood education and childcare, affordable housing, and full funding for the Audubon Convention Center.

Some may think the McDonald's Coffee involved ridiculous, greedy plaintiffs looking for pay day. But, do you know the real facts?

At the time, by corporate specifications, McDonald's was selling its coffee at 180 to 190 degrees Fahrenheit. Coffee at that temperature, if spilled, causes third-degree burns (the skin is burned away down to the muscle/fatty-tissue layer) in two to seven seconds. Third-degree burns do not heal without skin grafting, debridement and whirlpool treatments that cost tens of thousands of dollars and result in permanent disfigurement, extreme pain and disability of the victim for many months, and in some cases, years.
