The event brought together impressive panels of health professionals, advocates, legal experts, responders, survivors, and elected officials to reflect on the progress made and the important work that still lies ahead.

Founding Partner Troy Rosasco explains, “while we are disappointed that ischemic heart disease was not added as a covered condition at this time, this decision should not be the end of the conversation. We agree with Ben Chevat and the medical experts calling for continued research and the funding necessary to fully understand the connection between 9/11 toxic exposure and heart disease.”

The World Trade Center Health Program recently declined to add ischemic heart disease as a covered 9/11-related condition, citing insufficient evidence. But doctors who treat the 9/11 community say heart disease is present among responders and survivors and are calling for further study into its potential connection to toxic exposure.

As 9/11 Health Watch Executive Director Ben Chevat pointed out, cancer was also initially denied as a covered condition before additional evidence ultimately led to its inclusion.

We support continued research, dedicated funding, and a thorough review of the science. The 9/11 community deserves answers; and if the evidence supports a connection, responders and survivors suffering from cardiac conditions deserve access to the care and compensation they need.

A denied 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund claim does not necessarily mean the end of your case.

With beautiful weather, delicious food, fun team games, and colleagues from both our Long Island and New York City offices, it was the perfect opportunity to step away from our desks, strengthen relationships, and learn a little more about one another outside of the workplace.

Today, Hansen & Rosasco Paralegal Judy DiFranco is riding 25 miles in the annual Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride in support of our nation's wounded veterans.

By riding alongside injured service members, Judy is helping raise awareness and critical funds while honoring the resilience, strength, and camaraderie that make this event so meaningful.

This summer, we've had the privilege of welcoming two outstanding law students to the Hansen & Rosasco team. Please join us in recognizing interns Chelsea Joseph, an incoming 1L at Widener University Commonwealth Law School, and Grisha Bhandari, a rising 2L at Appalachian School of Law.

From day one, Chelsea and Grisha have brought enthusiasm, compassion, and a strong commitment to learning. They have already made a meaningful impact by assisting our team in serving the 9/11 community with care, professionalism, and dedication.

What has impressed us most is their shared passion for helping others. As they continue their legal education, we have no doubt they will carry that same commitment into their future careers as advocates for those in need.
