Shipman attorneys David Mahoney, Melissa Sydney, Julia Wilde and Gwen Zittoun had a wonderful time at yesterday’s Whoop It Up for Women! Comedy Night at the Boston Harbor Hotel, hosted by the Women's Bar Foundation of Massachusetts (WBF). The evening featured local legal talent performing alongside Boston’s premier improv troupe, Improv Asylum, bringing the room to life with a series of hilarious sketches.

The WBF is dedicated to advancing access to justice for low-income individuals and fostering a strong community committed to providing free legal assistance to those in need. It was a fantastic event in support of an important mission!

Last night, Shipman’s Colby Fraschilla, Joe Miller, Ian Saum, and Laura Schulyer attended the George W. Crawford Black Bar Association Annual Dinner.

It was a wonderful evening dedicated to celebration, recognition and fellowship, honoring outstanding leaders, recognizing scholarship recipients, and reflecting on the importance of community, mentorship and service. We were honored to be part of such a meaningful and inspiring occasion.

Davis will participate in a panel entitled, “Everything You Say Will Be Held Against You: Designing a Corporate PFAS Assessment and Communications Policy that Emphasizes Transparency While Minimizing Risk,” as part of the American Conference Institute’s 3rd Annual Summit on PFAS Regulation, Compliance and Litigation in New York City.

Andrew will present alongside Kegan Brown (Lowenstein Sandler LLP) and Nathan Williams (Dechert LLP) on how companies can appropriately develop a PFAS risk management plan and responsibly communicate about PFAS while minimizing risk and avoiding unnecessary exposure.

On June 2nd, Shipman partner Dan Schwartz will present the session “‘Claude Is Not the Name of Your Lawyer’: AI, Privilege, and the New Rules of the Game” as part of the Connecticut Bar Association’s 2026 Connecticut Legal Conference in Hartford, CT, alongside Hon. Vernon D. Oliver (U.S. District Court, District of Connecticut), Andy I. Corea (Harris Beach Murtha), and Ashley Picker Dubin (Day Pitney LLP), with Jonathan M. Shapiro (Aeton Law Partners) moderating the session.

This program will examine the first wave of federal decisions applying attorney-client privilege and work product doctrine to AI-generated materials — including the dueling rulings in United States v. Heppner and Warner v. Gilbarco — and survey the evolving landscape of jurisdiction-specific ethics rules and guidance shaping how lawyers must use these tools. The program will also cover new developments in AI use for client communications, recording and transcription, and document preparation, equipping attendees to integrate AI into their workflows competently, ethically, and without jeopardizing their clients' interests.
