Leigh McRay grew up working in to***co, baling hay, raising cattle, chickens and a garden with her grandparents William and Annelle Ison, and parents Earl McRay and Clyde & Patsy Hayslett. Leigh married Mike McRay on August 22, 1988. They have 2 sons, Adam and Alex.

Leigh retired from Mercer County School System after 13 years. Leigh and Mike continued to farm after they married. They bought a small farm with 13 acres in Bohon, built their first home and had a small cattle and hay farm.

Since 2001 Leigh and Mike, along with Adam and Alex, have lived on a 140 acres that has been in Leigh’s family for 4 generations. They also remodeled their 175-year-old home. Along with the help of their 2 sons, they continue to run a cow/calf operation along with many acres of hay to this day.

Leigh and Mike have been on our board for many years and we have been blessed with their leadership.

We had the best time co-sponsoring this event for the 2nd year along with the Mercer County Public Library and the Mercer County Cooperative Extension Service. The weather was perfect and we has almost 200 people in attendance.
