Anyone can deny service and ask you to leave, let's put this in God's hand, they just lost my business.
Monday afternoon, a local coffee shop, Wydaho Roasters, ejected a pro-life group from their location, after they had ordered and paid for their coffee and food, for being pro-life.
The group was being led by a 16 year old boy, Bear Hawkins, son of Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life.
Many local groups use the coffee shop as a neutral meeting place. The owner, Jim Sheehan, has publicly stated that, "I've always tried to raise people up and lead by example. When people come into our store, I treat everyone the way I'd want to be treated, whether they're wearing a rainbow flag or a MAGA hat."
But not this time - a group that was quietly meeting, not disrupting or obstructing operations, was asked to leave due to their beliefs about abortion. Sheehan compared the pro-life movement to the K*K, which is ironic as Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger and some of her associates actually supported and spoke at K*K events.
This altercation brings several questions to mind regarding the :
Does supporting choice include supporting those who choose to be pro-life?
Does being tolerant mean tolerating hearing ideas with which you disagree?
Does supporting human rights include supporting the right to free speech for born humans?
How can we have more reasonable conversations about abortion if we refuse to dialogue reasonably with people who hold opposing views?
