She has always demonstrated a passion for representing marginalized communities. In her final semester at Widener Commonwealth Law School, she volunteered as a Certified Legal Intern with the Lehigh County Public Defender’s Office, representing juvenile and adult clients. Williams clerked for the Honorable Maria Musti Cook, York County Court of Common Pleas, where she concentrated her legal research and writing in the areas of search and seizure laws, criminal appeals, and post-conviction relief. After her clerkship, Ms. Williams worked as an Assistant District Attorney in York County and later as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in Franklin County where she prosecuted hundreds of cases at every stage of the criminal judicial process.

La Tasha C. Williams First Black Woman Elected Judge of the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas

Community-centered attorney brings fairness, clarity, and integrity to the bench

HARRISBURG, PA — La Tasha C. Williams has been elected to serve as a Judge on the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas. Williams’ election elevates a respected legal professional known for steady judgment, deep community roots, and an unwavering commitment to fairness.

“I am deeply honored by the trust the voters of Dauphin County have placed in me,” said Judge-Elect Williams. “Every person who comes before the court deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and impartiality. I will work every day to ensure that justice is administered fairly, transparently, and with compassion.”

Colleagues and community partners have praised Williams’ temperament and preparation, noting her thoughtful approach to the law and service-first mindset. Judge-Elect Williams is Founder & Managing Attorney of Williams Law Group in Harrisburg and has served as Of Counsel to Gunther & Patel. She is a former 8th Ward Commissioner for Susquehanna Township, teaches Constitutional Law at Lebanon Valley College, and brings 25 years of courtroom experience spanning service as a judicial law clerk, prosecutor, defense attorney, and advocate. She is active in regional bar associations and has been recognized for community service and mentorship. We are finishing this last weekend before ELECTION DAY 🗳️ strong!

We celebrated Diwali with the Harrisburg Gujarati Association of Central PA, then canvassed with Commissioner Justin Douglas to remind voters about this week’s election and to ask them to vote for me. We ended the evening with the African Chamber of Commerce of Pennsylvania at their annual dinner gala.
