Villegas received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. She is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), AILA-Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico Chapter, and is a Licensed Master of Social Work in the State of Texas. She is Barred in the State of Texas, 2009, the State of Illinois, 2010, and in the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, 2013.
