ProBAR attorneys represent children in ORR custody who wait months beyond legal timelines to be reunified with their parents. We see sponsors detained, children held without explanation, and families kept in the dark about their own child’s well-being.

The Senate Finance Committee’s request for transparency and accountability from ORR is encouraging and a critical step toward keeping children safe and reuniting them with their families.

Our hope is that this review leads to accountability to the rule of law so that no child endures prolonged detention or harm while in federal care. Read the full letter at linktr.ee/abaprobarinfo and learn more about ProBAR’s work to protect the rights of all children.

“As we continue to fight to reunify children with their families, we bear witness to the costs of prolonged detention, the joy of families reunited, and the resilience of children,” reflects Lauren, ProBAR’s Legal Director. So far, ProBAR Staff have won the release of seven child clients and counting.
