📰 The pandemic was the motivation for the Shredding event. “We had to cancel all of our fundraisers this calendar year,” said Eva McDermott, Vice-President of the AWCC. “ While people were staying at home, they cleaned out filing cabinets and closets, leaving a lot of sensitive documents to dispose of. Identity theft is a serious issue. You can’t just throw those papers away in the trash. They contain too much identifying information. We decided that we could have a shredding fundraiser, while observing social distancing. We could help people securely dispose of all of those old files and papers, while raising money for a worthy organization. The AWCC is a 501(c)(3) which raises money to give back to the residents of Atkinson, the Town of Atkinson, the organizations that serves the residents. Come down with your full boxes of paper and help the Atkinson Women’s Civic Club raise money to support its programs for the coming year.
