🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR TANGIPAHOA PARISH 🔥

🚨 Effective immediately, Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller has issued a parish-wide burn ban due to extremely dry conditions and at the request of the parish’s local fire chiefs.

“After talking with the fire chiefs and upon review of the local forecast, we agree that a burn ban is appropriate at this time,” Miller said.

🔥 What does this mean?
The burn ban includes all open residential and commercial burning and will remain in effect until rescinded.

🍔 What IS allowed?
The ban does not include:
• Bar-B-Que pits
• Grills
• Fire pits

However, if you choose to use these items, please use extreme caution and keep a close eye on any fire.

⚠️ With conditions extremely dry, fires can spread quickly and become difficult to control. Help us protect our homes, families, property, and first responders by avoiding all unnecessary outdoor burning.

📞 When in doubt, don’t burn!

Please share this information with your friends, family, and neighbors. 🚒❤️

Four high-traffic parish roads are scheduled for sealcoating next week, and cross drain projects are planned on nine local roadways across Tangipahoa Parish.

Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller said Material Resources Inc. will do sealcoating work on Woodhaven Road, Randall Road, Giluso Road, and General Ott Road during the week of August 10.

Additionally, parish crews have scheduled several cross drain replacement projects over the course of this coming week. Those projects include:
**August 11 and 12: Holiday Drive, Flamingo Drive, Apple Blossom Lane, Twilight Drive, and Rosedust Lane will each be closed at their intersection with Snowball Circle. No thru traffic will be allowed through the construction zone, which is scheduled between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.each day.
**August 12: Brad Alford Road will be closed at a location approximately 920 feet north of its intersection with LA 1055. Construction is scheduled between the hours of 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
**August 13: Pine Meadow Road will be closed at a location 70 feet south of its intersection of Sherwood Lane. Crews will also replace a cross drain on Cades Cove at a location approximately 2849 feet from Pine Meadow Road.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes, if possible, while crews are working. Intermittent delays are possible during construction periods, and all work is weather-permitting.
