Distracted driving and less enforcement of speeding and other infractions are the clear cause of the uptick. The landscape is further complicated by the high amount of people driving without insurance.

Since the start of the pandemic, the number of people dying in traffic crashes in Connecticut has surged and shows no signs of slowing.

My son Noah gave us a textbook example of distracted driving today. While staring down a fellow driver as he sped by in his Lego car - he took his eye off the road for just a moment - and he caused a rear end collision.

Distracted driving cases are very common in my practice. I have represented countless victims of distracted driving - and am available any time to speak with you should you be involved in an accident.

As I reflect back on this year, and the last 18 or so months of life that is unlike anything we could have ever contemplated, I think back on remote hearings, outdoor meetings, elbow taps and fist bumps, window meetings and zoom calls and I have to say that I have been blessed with great clients and partners. The resiliency, patience and grace shown by everyone who has come in contact with Donlin Law has been an inspiration.

As Connecticut faces another surge of Covid-19, our resiliency is again being tested. We will get there - and I know 2022 is going to be a better year and the character we have shown in 2021 will pay off with interest.

Thank you again to the people who allow me to do what I do and stay safe.
