⚠️PLEASE SHARE: Phone scammers pretending to be Cherry Hill Police Officers⚠️
We have been alerted that scammers have been calling residents and claiming to be from the Cherry Hill Police Department.
This is a professional scheme; these fraudsters appear to be “spoofing” their caller ID and it could display on your phone as the Cherry Hill Police Department, or as our non-emergency number: 856-665-1200.
These scammers have asked residents to pay fines over the phones, informed them that they have warrants, that a family member has been arrested, and have asked for monetary donations.
The Cherry Hill Police Department will NEVER call you to ask you to pay a fine for yourself or for a family member, and we will never call you to inform you that you or your family member have a warrant. We also want our residents to know that we are NOT soliciting monetary donations. Credit card information should NEVER be provided over the phone to unverified individuals and businesses.
This is a nation-wide scam that many of our law enforcement partners across the country are also investigating. If you believe you have been a victim of this scam please DO NOT give the caller any of your personal or financial information, hang up, and call the non-emergency line 856-665-1200. Please be sure that you do not call the number back to do so, type the number into your phone instead.
