Be aware - scammers are getting very smart!
If you receive a call claiming to be the police and they instruct you to scan a bar code to send the police money - IT IS A SCAM!!
The police DO NOT use bar codes or QR codes or money orders to collect bail, fines, etc. If you owe money to the court, the police, or other government agency, they will accept your money directly - go to their offices if you think you owe something!
Do not fall victim to scammers!
If you get a strange call - think! Does it make sense??
If you question whether a call is a scam - CALL THE POLICE!
DO NOT SEND MONEY!
