The kids didn’t know it was a “mock” hearing until it was over with.

The Waukegan Police Department will be conducting extra enforcement initiatives across the City of Waukegan. These efforts are aimed at enhancing public safety and ensuring compliance with local laws in the following areas:

Lewis Ave from Beach Rd to Sunset Ave
Greenbay Rd from Grand Ave to Belvidere Rd
Greenbay Rd from Belvidere Rd to 14th St
Greenbay Rd from Pacific Ave to Grand Ave
Sunset Ave from Greenbay Rd to Lewis Ave
Grand Ave from Greenbay Rd to Butrick St

The Waukegan Police Department will conduct supplementary enforcement efforts through the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) grant beginning 5/1/26 through 5/14/26.

🚧 Traffic Update: Grand Avenue Closure Continues 🚧

Grand Avenue (Rt 132) will remain closed between Milwaukee Ave and O’Plaine Rd on Monday as commuters head to work and school.

Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and allow extra travel time.

⚠️ Reminder:
• Do NOT drive around barricades
• Do NOT drive through standing water
• Follow all directions from law enforcement and posted detours
