Edit: DLDV Issue Resolved!! Title work can be done with license verification.

Vitu subscribers cannot process title work at the moment!

So, I noticed this issue yesterday afternoon after I was trying to do titles after an auction. Vitu didn’t answer the phone for the 40 minutes I was first in line. But I know it was happening at least around 4:30. Then when I called this morning the customer service agent didn’know it started yesterday(probably after their scheduled update). I called the Driver License verification call center today and they didn’t know Vitu had an issue. My grumpy point is, I can’t process title work until the license verification system is working. I am so sorry. I will repost when I find out it’s working again.e

Two things:

First, I will be out of the office July 14th-July 21st. Normal business hours will resume Tuesday, July 22nd.

Secondly, I’ve had a couple customers need duplicate titles recently. A duplicate title form can be found online after searching for an MV38o. A recent version (1-25) requires no notarization but it does not state the fee(there’s another form for that, the MV-70S) however the cost has changed as of July 1st to $72 for the title fee. The check or money order can be made out to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for that amount.

Browne’s Notary Service will be closed Thursday, May 22nd, Friday, May 23rd and Saturday, May 24th. We are getting sidewalks done and I don’t want anyone to have to struggle with parking and walking around. Thank you for understanding!!

This will replace the alternative fuel tax on residential charging....keep an eye out with your renewals for electric and plug in hybrid vehicles. Looks like the charge will start with renewals for registrations on due by the end of May 2025 and after and new vehicle registrations starting April 1, 2025. Also, just me not wanting to pay more when I don't have to, I'd opt for the 2 year to save $50 on electric vehicles or $13 on plug in hybrids.

Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted. I happened to have 2 customers bring up the removal of inspections yesterday and I had to tell them I hadn’t heard that from my PennDOT bulletins yet. But two people saying it made it seem like it could be real. Turns out it is not. Our vehicles will still have to pass state inspections and, in the counties that require it, pass emissions testing.

PennDOT is setting the record straight after social media posts circulated, claiming Pennsylvania is doing away with state inspections.
