This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends this weekend, may we also remember the true meaning of Memorial Day.

From all of us at GKD, thank you to the heroes who served our country with courage and honor.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at GKD!

Today, we want to celebrate the incredible mothers who are part of our team—the women who help make everything we do possible.

The qualities that make great mothers—patience, compassion, resilience, and a deep sense of responsibility—are the same qualities that strengthen our practice every day. Whether advocating, assisting, coordinating, or supporting, these women bring care and commitment into everything they do - at home and at GKD.

We are grateful for the way they show up for our clients, for each other, and for their families.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Mary McDaniel, our bookkeeper, describes her mother this way:
“An angel on earth. The most selfless woman I knew. She was content to let everyone else shine while she stood in the shadows. I love her and think of her every single day. Oh, the most beautiful meaning of being a mother… she exemplified it to the fullest.”

As we continue highlighting the people who make what we do possible, it feels only right to recognize the ones who made them who they are. Behind Mary’s steady presence, her kindness, and her quiet dedication… is a legacy of selflessness and love that started with her mother.

And if you know Mary, you can’t help but notice something else — in describing her mother so beautifully, she may not even realize she’s describing a little bit of herself, too.

This is what Mother’s Day is truly about — not just celebrating moms, but honoring the values, strength, and grace they pass down, often without ever asking for recognition.

To Mary's mother, and to all the women who have shaped us from behind the scenes — thank you. Your impact shines through every life you’ve touched.

As we continue celebrating our moms and Mother’s Day, we wanted to recognize someone very special to our team—Sandra, our amazing office manager—and her mother.

Sandra Edwards has been a cornerstone of our practice for years, and the warmth, patience, kindness, and knowledge she brings each day reflects the influence of strong women like her mom.

Those values—care, connection, and dedication—are the same ones we bring into our practice every day.

As Mother's Day approaches, we celebrate the moments that shape who we become.

Featuring the youngest in the GKD office, Kaylee Ferguson, and her mother, Lisa Ferguson, on Kaylee's last first day of school, we recognize the dedication and support that contributes to success both inside and outside the workplace. . . and everything that moms do to make it happen.

The attorneys at GKD had a busy day!

Robin Dambrino argued a case to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans that involved a false arrest claim. Specifically, he argued the topics of Qualified Immunity and Monell Liability.

Wesley Pinson was in Jackson before the Mississippi Court of Appeals to argue whether false arrest and false imprisonment claims are excluded by the Mississippi Tort Claims Act and whether Mississippi recognizes the independent intermediary doctrine.

Ashley Lane traveled to Hattiesburg to argue Motions for Summary Judgment as to statutory immunities provided to state employees under the Mississippi Tort Claims Act in Circuit Court.

Jay Gore held down the office and prepared for mediation tomorrow.

Almost everyone got to argue so it was a good day!

Mothers do it all - sometimes it looks like a day at the beach, a round of putt‑putt, and kids who don’t yet realize how much love and effort made moments like this possible.

This is attorney Ashley Nobile Lane with her mom, Olivia Hartanovich, and sister Amy Nobile Gough — and one of countless memories shaped by a mother's care, patience, and steady presence. Like so many mothers, Olivia showed up in ways big and small, carrying more than her children ever knew so they could simply be kids.

Today, we are especially grateful—not just for memories, but for the strength and support behind them.

Here's to the moms who do it all—and to those who deserve support, too. Because moms already carry enough—we’re here to help carry the rest.

Mothers do it all—and somehow make it look like dancing.

Here’s one of our partners, Robin Dambrino, sharing a moment with his mom at a wedding many years ago—a reminder that behind every strong professional is a mother who taught them how to juggle, lead, and keep going with love and laughter.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating moms everywhere—the ones who keep families moving forward and in step with the music.
