Whether advocating, assisting, coordinating, or supporting, these women bring care and commitment into everything they do - at home and at GKD.

Mary McDaniel, our bookkeeper, describes her mother this way:
“An angel on earth. The most selfless woman I knew. She was content to let everyone else shine while she stood in the shadows. I love her and think of her every single day. Oh, the most beautiful meaning of being a mother… she exemplified it to the fullest.”

As we continue highlighting the people who make what we do possible, it feels only right to recognize the ones who made them who they are. Behind Mary’s steady presence, her kindness, and her quiet dedication… is a legacy of selflessness and love that started with her mother.

And if you know Mary, you can’t help but notice something else — in describing her mother so beautifully, she may not even realize she’s describing a little bit of herself, too.

This is what Mother’s Day is truly about — not just celebrating moms, but honoring the values, strength, and grace they pass down, often without ever asking for recognition.
