City of Greenwood AR Local Government Greenwood is a perhaps best known locally for its Arkansas high school football.

It is the fifth largest municipality in the Fort Smith, Arkansas-Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area with a population of 8,952 according to the 2010 US Census. The City of Greenwood is governed by a Mayor-Council form of government. The Mayor, Doug Kinslow and six elected alderman make up the Greenwood City Council. The city clerk, Sharla Derry and the City Attorney, Mike Hamby also sit with the council during city business.

The City of Greenwood is seeking a motivated individual to join our Planning & Community Development team as a Full Time Code Compliance Inspector. This position helps maintain community standards through proactive inspections, courteous communication and support of city development operations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver's license, ability to read ordinances, maps, plans and regulations. Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree or technical education, experience in construction, inspections, public works, planning, permitting or related field.

The City of Greenwood offers competitive pay and an excellent benefit package.
