He appeared regularly as a family law expert on Denver’s Tom Martino Radio Show and as a guest-host on Denver’s Grassroots Radio Colorado, and now a host of his own news & political radio talk show on Denver's KLZ AM 560, "Wake Up! with Randy Corporon." Randy enjoys flying, is an avid classic & exotic car-buff, motorcyclist, political activist, Tea Party Patriot, and is the Chairman of the Arapahoe County Tea Party. Randy Corporon lives outside of Denver with his wife, Tana Corporon, of 17 years and her two children (now, 18 and 22), whom he has proudly raised as his own since they were 1 and 5. Randy Corporon was born in Denver near Washington Park in 1959. At the age of 15, Randy dropped out of high school and moved out from home at 17. In 1977, Randy returned to Denver to attend Denver Automotive and Diesel College. He eventually opened and ran high performance and classic car auto repair, body and paint shops in multiple locations employing as many as 10-15 people at a time. He spent free time on cross-country motorcycle trips, deep-sea fishing, scuba-diving, parachuting, piloting, and a host of other activities. Randy took his GED in order to apply for and obtain a real estate license in 79 or 80, just in time for the real estate crash. Following the death of his older brother in a car accident, Randy’s perspective on family strengthened; volunteering at the Gemini House (now, The Family Tree...a child abuse & domestic violence shelter) and working with troubled teens, with every family case he takes on, Randy Corporon never forgets his own tragic loss and struggles. In 1982, Randy graduated from the Ron Bailey School of Broadcasting and went to work part time at QUAD99-FM in Windsor, CO, a 100,000 watt adult-rock station. In 1993 Randy was admitted to Colorado College, during which he recovered from his own near-fatal car accident—leaving additional scars that guide him in every traffic and injury cases he now handles. As an older graduate, not wanting to lose yet another year...regardless of being on strong pain medication from his near-fatal car accident, with bundled ribs and a damaged hand, Randy Corporon went on to take his Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). He graduated from Colorado College in May of 1995 with a BA in English and a Minor in the Arts and Architecture of London and Florence. Randy was admitted to both in-state law schools plus others, but chose the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. At DU, he was on both the trial and appellate advocacy teams, competing nationwide, won the award for best legal brief, and argued in front of a panel including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Byron White and Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Rebecca Love Kourlis with an audience of over 200 people in the final of an in-school competition. Randy worked in the Student Law Office for two years, including dealing with a death row inmate and handling court appearances with supervision. He graduated from DU in May of 1998, passed the Bar Exam that Fall, and opened his private practice on November 1, 1998. Almost 16 years later, Randy’s practice has continued to flourish.
