What a wonderful weekend to marry a delightful couple in front of 60 of their friends and family at the Delamar in Greenwich. Picture-perfect weather and a fabulous backdrop!

The combination of the wonderful weather and the long delays for those waiting to get married in New York State has led to some fun ceremonies in Greenwich and Norwalk. Thanks to my new friends who recently left me two new 5-star ratings on Thumbtack.

This past week a couple drove up from New York City to get married. They made an appointment with the Norwalk Town/City Clerk, but did not know where to perform the ceremony. I did some "location scouting" in advance and sent them pictures from Mathews Park and Oyster Shell Park. We eventually drove from Norwalk City Hall over to Matthews Park for the ceremony and took some beautiful shots around the grounds with the Lockwood-Mathews mansion in the background.

What a wonderful time officiating at P & A's wedding on Saturday. The background of the Long Island Sound was a perfect backdrop. And the weather could not have been nicer.

Since becoming a Justice of the Peace, I've been thinking about how best to celebrate and witness the love of a couple to be married.

But I've also been thinking about advice to give newly-married couples advice on a long and lasting marriage. Recently I attended a series of lectures related to a wonderful book: True Love That Lasts.

The book has many wonderful tips. Out of respect for the author, I won't reveal more than one important idea: "How can I please and surprise the one I love more today?"

I had a wonderful time marrying "V" and "A" yesterday in 25 degree weather. A fun way to start out as a Justice of the Peace.
