Meet the New Ladies of LTL: Gabby McGaughey ⚖️⬇️

Gabby McGaughey graduated from Charleston School of Law in May 2026. Prior to entering law school, she gained experiences working in insurance defense and social security disability law, driving her desire to help others and make a positive impact in people’s lives.

During the summer of her 1L year, she started as a law clerk at Lauren Taylor Law and found and incredible love for family law. Gabby continued to work for Lauren Taylor Law throughout law school because of the amazing team of attorneys and endless opportunities to learn and grow in the legal field. She has always felt tremendous support from this team, helping shape her into the person she is today – someone who leads with both heart and diligence.

Over the years, Gabby has been able to learn the ins and outs of family law by attending hearings, trial, and mediations. These hands-on experiences gave her an understanding that it isn’t just about the legal outcomes, but how to help people navigating some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. She takes the time to truly listen to each client’s story and understand each client’s individual needs to best help them throughout the legal process.

Outside of the office, Gabby likes to do Pilates, go on long walks, and watch any and every crime documentary.

Meet the New Ladies of LTL: Olivia Soukup ⚖️⬇️

Olivia Soukup graduated from Charleston School of Law in May 2026. During law school, she gained experience across a variety of practice areas, working as a law clerk with firms handling criminal defense, family law, and mass tort litigation. These experiences exposed Olivia to different areas of advocacy and helped shape her approach to representing clients.

Olivia also spent a significant portion of her time in law school interning with the Charleston County Department of Social Services, where she gained valuable experience working on matters affecting children and families in the Charleston community.

Before attending law school, Olivia worked as a Behavioral Health Counselor with Eating Recovery Center, where she worked with children receiving treatment for eating disorders. Working closely with children and families during challenging circumstances strengthened her ability to listen, communicate, and approach difficult situations with empathy and understanding. That experience continues to influence the way she approaches her relationships with clients today.
Olivia approaches the practice of law with a commitment to helping others and being a strong advocate for her clients. She values taking the time to listen, understand each client’s individual circumstances, and help them feel informed and supported throughout the legal process.

Outside of the office, Olivia enjoys walking the beach, running, and attending Pilates classes. She also enjoys fostering puppies and helping them find their forever homes.

Going back to school can be both an exciting and stressful time for parents and their children. Adding divorce and child custody issues can create another layer of tension during the school year. Here’s some tips on how to navigate a better routine for both parents and their children. ⬇️

✏️ Have a clear co-parenting communication style
✏️ Follow a pick-up and drop-off schedule
✏️ Have aligned household routines to keep kids on track
✏️ Keep basic school supplies in each home for easy access
✏️ Have proactive coordination with teachers/school staff
✏️ Request duplicate report cards, emails, & event notices
