FULL ACQUITTAL! Last week attorney Alex Pendl went to trial in the Darke County Common Pleas Court. Mr. Pendl’s client was charged with ten felony counts of Endangering Children, facing a potential maximum sentence of eighty to eighty-four years in prison. During the five-day trial, Mr. Pendl presented evidence that before the alleged victim went to the police, she had blackmailed his client and threatened to “ruin” him if he didn’t do what she wanted. Mr. Pendl also demonstrated how the forensic evidence did not match the alleged victim’s story. After almost two hours of deliberation, the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty on all ten counts.

A Darke County jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty in favor of attorney Kevin J. Allen’s client today. Mr. Allen’s client was facing a Misdemeanor of the 4th Degree with a maximum penalty of thirty (30) days in jail and a fine of up to $250.00. After a half day jury trial this morning; the jury deliberated for an hour before reaching a verdict of Not Guilty on the original charge of Menacing.

NOT GUILTY ON AGGRAVATED ROBBERY!

A Darke County jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty in favor of attorney Alex Pendl’s client today. Mr. Pendl’s client was facing a Felony of the First Degree with a maximum penalty of Eleven (11) to Sixteen and a Half (16 ½) Years in prison. After a full day of trial yesterday, the jury returned this morning to hear closing arguments and deliberate. The jury deliberated for an hour and forty minutes before reaching a verdict of Not Guilty on both the original charge of Aggravated Robbery and the lesser-included offense of Robbery. Mr. Pendl’s client, who had been held in jail since being arrested almost three months ago, will go free today.

ANOTHER NOT GUILTY VERDICT! Attorney Alex Pendl went to jury trial in the Celina Municipal Court yesterday. Mr. Pendl’s client was charged with domestic violence against his adult daughter. The daughter did not want to press charges, but the Prosecutor refused to drop the case. After nearly a full day of jury trial, it took the jury less than 15 minutes of deliberation to return a verdict of Not Guilty.

Case dismissed! Attorney Alex Pendl obtained a full dismissal in a felony Interference with Custody indictment that was filed against his client in April of 2024. The case had been pending for almost a year, during which time Mr. Pendl continuously asserted his client’s innocence and urged his client to go forward with trial. Just four days before the case was to proceed to jury trial, the State moved to dismiss the indictment due to “insufficient evidence.” The Darke County Common Pleas Court granted the motion, terminating the prosecution without Mr. Pendl’s client needing to appear for trial.

Alex Pendl of Rudnick, Hosek & Pendl Ltd. went to jury trial yesterday in the Darke County Common Pleas Court. Mr. Pendl’s client was charged with Felonious Assault, a Felony of the Second Degree. If convicted, Mr. Pendl’s client faced up to 8-12 years in prison. The Prosecutor’s Office refused to offer a reduced charge. At trial, Mr. Pendl disputed the severity of the victim’s injuries and argued the charge should be a misdemeanor instead of a felony. After a full day of trial, the jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty for Felonious Assault and Guilty for Misdemeanor Assault. For a misdemeanor conviction, the maximum punishment is local jail time and a fine: no possible prison term. Mr. Pendl intends to argue for probation at the sentencing hearing.

High school diploma and experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/Exchange are required. Prior legal experience is beneficial but not required. An ideal candidate would have excellent communication and typing skills.
