The Young Lawyers section honors the legacy of the late Janet Ward Black. Janet Ward supported YLS and had a special place in her heart for young and aspiring lawyers. We will remember her servant’s heart and the invaluable mentorship she provided to many of our lawyers. Join us in remembering Janet Ward Black.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Janet Ward Black, one of Greensboro’s most distinguished attorneys and a longtime supporter of Elon University School of Law. As past president of the North Carolina Bar Association and a leader in legal advocacy, Black generously shared her experience, counsel and encouragement with our students -- including at our 2016 convocation, pictured here. She answered the call whenever our community needed her.

Our thoughts are with her family and many colleagues and friends during this time of loss.
