Back to proving Oak Ridge isn’t a food desert… one local stop at a time. 🥯🌶️

This week’s Local Spotlight: Oak Ridge Bagels & Deli!

I ordered the Hot Mama: bacon, egg, pepper jack cheese, and chipotle mayo on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Delicious. Just the right amount of heat, and the bagel had that nice chew you want in a good bagel.

I don’t eat bagels often. As a Type 1 diabetic, I find them tricky to dose insulin for—but this one was worth it. 🙌
They have plenty of bagel options, breakfast and deli sandwiches, and some baked goods, too. It was pretty quiet when I stopped in, so I’m hoping I just missed the morning crowd. Places like this deserve some local love!

What’s your go-to order? And if you’re still saying there’s nowhere to eat in Oak Ridge… I’m going to need you to follow along. 😂

PS - someone enlighten me…what is a New York Style Bagel exactly?

If you need a laugh, volume up and watch till the end 😂That’s what I get for trying to film a local spotlight with a very tired 5 year old. Sorry Joey’s Burger Bar I’ll try again next week! If you haven’t been to Joeys, they are known for their smash burgers. I personally opt for a house salad with grilled chicken tossed in the mango habanero wing sauce. So juicy and tender!

☕️ Local Spotlight: Sip Lab in Greensboro!

One of my favorite parts of this business? Clients who turn into friends. We met up at Lab over the weekend to catch up and try something a little different.

You might recognize the location—it’s the former Starbucks on Battleground Avenue! Sip Lab has made it home, and its sister business, Icecream Factory, is just a few doors down.
And it’s definitely more than a coffee shop. They have a huge menu of smoothies, matcha, energy drinks, and creative coffee combinations. There’s a lot to choose from!

Now, my honest take: I’m usually a less-sugar, more-coffee kind of girl, so the sweeter drinks aren’t necessarily my everyday cup of tea. But I ordered a brown sugar shaken espresso with much less sweetener, and it was good!
My friends went for the Banana Cloud Latte and Biscoff Cloud Latte, while their son got the Original Cloud Smoothie. That bright blue color? Blue spirulina, which I was happy to see on the ingredient list.

And the croffles—think croissant meets waffle—looked and smelled amazing. I didn’t try one, so I can’t give you a taste review, but they certainly got my attention. 😂

They also have ordering kiosks for those days when you need caffeine before you’re ready to talk to a real human. LOL.

A fun spot to catch up with friends, especially if you like getting creative with your drink order. Have you tried it yet?
