What does September 11 mean to you?

During the American Legion’s 9/11 Appreciation Breakfast, we invited several attendees to reflect on that day 25 years ago—what they remember, the lessons we should carry forward, and how September 11 forever changed our nation and the world.

Their words remind us of the lives lost, the courage of the heroes who responded, and the strength we find in unity, service, and community.

May we continue to honor their memory by standing together and remaining ready to serve and support one another in times of need.

Please join us in congratulating Christian Schierer on his promotion
to Utility System Shift Operator (USSO), Water Division, effective August 9, 2026!

Christian has also achieved an important professional milestone by becoming the City of Greenfield’s Chief Distribution Operator, a.k.a. Certified Operator of Record (OOR) with the State of California. In simple terms, this means Christian is now the State-recognized certified operator responsible for overseeing the safe and proper operation of the City’s drinking water system and helping ensure we remain in compliance with California’s water quality requirements.

This is a significant accomplishment and a reflection of Christian’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our community.

Congratulations, Christian! We are proud to have you on the City of Greenfield team! 👏🎉
