When we sell a business, the “stuff” goes away. It’s just “stuff” to the buyers. But in reality, it’s bigger than that. It’s often a legacy and a lifetime of hard work and dedication.
This is Joe Langone. He owns JL Power Systems in Green Cove Springs. Joe is retiring from the work he has known his whole life. Joe spent 3 years in the Navy and toured in Vietnam in the late 60’s. Joe has 2 kids. He moved to FL in 1981 from New York. He spent 27 years as a mechanic for Ring Power in St. Augustine before opening his own Generator repair shop. He maintained his own shop for 15 years. After much consideration, Joe contacted us and said it was time. After a successful auction last Saturday, we helped load the last few things in his shop to make their trek to new places.
It’s easy to sell items. It’s not so easy seeing someone’s life work disappear in a few hours. That’s the part nobody else sees. We feel every emotion our sellers feel because we are there from start to finish. From setting up and organizing to sweeping the empty floors. This part of life will happen to all of us eventually, if we’re lucky.
No matter the chapter life holds for you next, Joe, we wish you many more years of happiness and health. Thank you for trusting us with your belongings. See you on the next adventure. JL Power Systems, Inc.
