Last week, BCJ successfully negotiated with a rehabilitation agency on behalf of a client, securing a critical work order the client needed. This outcome was especially significant, as it marked the first time in the agency’s history that an exception of this kind had ever been granted.

A new scam posing as the RMV's final ask to pay an old ticket or loss of license, etc. will be the consequence. The persuasive part is the mass.gov link. Is the Commonwealth aware that scammers are posing as the Commonwealth?

Be wary of unsolicited calls allegedly from Medicare that your account has been flagged. Don't give them any information and call Medicare directly to confirm whether there is any truth to the call.

You are absolutely allowed to slow things down and say, “I want my lawyer to review this before I sign,” especially when something is labeled “time sensitive” or you feel rushed. High‑pressure tactics and artificial deadlines are common ways people try to stop you from doing proper due diligence.

Last week BCJ represented an elderly couple being evicted because of a three year controversy with a neighbor (who was also being evicted) that didn't resolve. Thanks to the parties' motivation to move forward, and attorney cooperation, one mediation session resulted in an agreement and dismissal of the evictions.
