South County’s oldest law firm, McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus, is pleased to announce that both Kathleen M. McCormick, Esq. and Haley G. Schopp, Esq., its new Associate Attorney, are admitted to practice law in Connecticut. Founded in 1933, McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus is a full-service law firm offering expertise in residential and commercial real estate, business law, estate planning, probate law, and land use and zoning. McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus is looking forward to bringing its expertise to Litchfield County.

Kathleen joined McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus as an Associate in 2004 after returning home to the Berkshires from Boston. She became a Partner in 2009 and Managing Partner in 2017. As a Great Barrington native, Kathleen is dedicated to the community and serving the legal needs of its residents. Kathleen is looking forward to practicing law in Connecticut. “I am excited to have Haley return to the area and join the firm. Haley is a rising star in the legal community and her connection to Litchfield County made the expansion to Connecticut a win-win for our firm and the Northwest Connecticut community.”

Haley’s practice will focus on residential and commercial real estate, land use, zoning and permitting, business and corporate law, estate planning and estate administration. Haley has worked in various roles at McCormick, Murtagh & Marcus since 2017 and is well-versed in the intricacies involved in her practice areas.

Haley received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College, and is a graduate of Westminster School located in Simsbury, Connecticut. Haley is admitted to practice law in Connecticut.

Haley is looking forward to beginning her career as an attorney close to her hometown of Canaan, Connecticut, where her parents, Edward and Shannon Schopp, continue to reside.
