opened up my hive #2 today and found the queen. Got some very blurry photos. This hive swarmed out of #1 last year, so this is probably the same queen as my video May 2, 2018. Awesome queen, pumping out the eggs and getting ready to swarm again this year. This hive is crowded, and full of brood, both drone and worker. The queen cell I found last time is gone. ?????

June 7,2019 I found a queen cell in my second hive. I think the second shot shows royal jelly and the larva is in that (I welcome comments from those who know about bees). That colony left a new queen in my first hive, swarmed and moved into this box on April 19, 2019. 51 days later they are well on their way to having another new queen this year. Hope it can get out and mate before Solstice. Hope that if the bees swarm they stay with me. I've had very good fortune with this queen. God save the queen.

While I was away for the weekend, a swarm moved into a small baited hive in the back yard. If it's from my bees, that makes 4 swarms this year that I've counted, all from the one hive last year.
